Women's History Month Give Back Announcement

March 14, 2026

$5,000.
Four Women.
Four Organizations Doing the Work.

These aren't random assignments—each of our Women's History Honorees selected an organization that reflects her values, her story, and the community she's committed to.

JENNIFER AMENT — URBAN ARTWORKS

Jen is an artist whose work explores the full range of human experience. She chose Urban Artworks, a Seattle nonprofit with 30 years of history connecting youth and emerging artists to public art-making across our city. Urban Artworks believes access to art is a human right — and that creative expression is power. Through mural projects and youth apprenticeships, they've helped thousands of young people build skills, deepen community ties, and see what's possible for themselves. Jen's donation will support that work continuing.

DR. RACHEL ISSAKA — CONVERGE MEDIA

During our photo shoot, Dr. Issaka told us: "Storytellers will save the world." We think about that a lot. She chose Converge Media, the Emmy Award-winning, Black-led media organization founded by Seattle Central District natives, dedicated to authentic storytelling for the Pacific Northwest's Black community. Converge produces everything from local news to documentaries to nationally broadcast shows, while actively uplifting Black creators and Black-owned businesses across the region. Their work — like Dr. Issaka's — is about making sure the right stories get told, and the right communities have access to the information and representation they deserve.

NNEKA OGWUMIKE — LET GIRLS READ, RUN, GROW

Nneka's Apple Puff Puff flavor is a love letter to her Nigerian heritage and childhood. Her Give Back choice carries the same heart. Let Girls Read, Run, Grow supports adolescent girls in Nigeria through three interconnected pathways: education, athletics, and entrepreneurship through agriculture. The organization was founded by Idara Otu — a Nigerian-American and 2012 Olympian — after she was moved to act following the 2014 Chibok school kidnappings. Like Nneka, Otu knows firsthand how education and athletics can transform a life. Nneka's donation goes toward building that foundation for girls who need it most.

JOY SHIGAKI — FRIENDS OF THE WATERFRONT

Joy leads Friends of Waterfront Park, so her Give Back choice is both personal and purposeful. After more than a decade of work — and $170 million raised — all 20 acres of Seattle's Waterfront Park are now open to the public. Joy's organization now turns its attention to stewardship: making sure the park stays beautiful, programmed, and accessible for everyone, for generations to come. A scoop of Chocolate Joy is, literally, a gift to Seattle's waterfront.

We are so grateful to Jennifer, Dr. Rachel, Nneka, and Joy — not just for lending their names and stories to this month, but for pointing us toward organizations that are genuinely changing things.

The flavors are still in shops through the end of March. If you haven't tried them yet, now's a great time. Every scoop counts.
