we're celebrating our 14th birthday with special cake inspired seasonal flavors perfect for a party!

This month molly moon’s homemade ice cream celebrates its 14th year of scooping ice cream in the PNW with three cake inspired flavors, and a special partnership with Hood Famous*. 10% of all proceeds from these flavors will go to Asian Counseling Referral Services (ACRS)* in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

Hood Famous Cafe + Bar and molly moon’s are deeply passionate about the depth and breadth of support that ACRS provides to our communities, so we are excited to team up for a special ice cream flavor this month- calamansi cream cake! Calamansi, also known as the Philippine’s lime, is a tiny citrus fruit that packs a flavorful punch that tastes a bit like a kumquat and a mandarin orange. It’s sweet and tart and an absolutely perfect tangy counterpoint to our rich ice cream. We add Hood Famous’ calamansi curd into our ice cream as it’s churning and then again in big thick ribbons to make sure its unique citrus flavor takes center stage. Folded into that perfectly rich and tart ice cream are buttery chunks of Hood Famous’ vanilla pound cake. This flavor is so phenomenal it will be available at all of our scoop shops (except for the Madrona walk-up window) and both locations of Seattle’s favorite cookie shop, Hello Robin.

Back when Molly Moon was a wee little kiddo, she and her grandpa would head to their local grocery store before lunchtime for a special treat- a scoop of her favorite ice cream, German chocolate cake. This ice cream flavor is inspired by those sweet memories. Our melted chocolate ice cream, made with 70% Theo Chocolate, is flecked with toasted coconut, chunks of moist dark chocolate cake, and thick swirls of our homemade vanilla bean caramel. This ice cream is so rich and chock full of delicious morsels you’ll be tempted to head to our shops before your next lunch break to treat yourself to a scoop of this delectable ice cream too! You can find it at all of our scoop shops this month, as well as both Hello Robin locations.

It wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without birthday cake and a lot of colorful sprinkles! One of our most requested flavors is cake batter ice cream, and this month we are more than happy to oblige with our special birthday cake ice cream! We take all the flavors of a classic vanilla cake batter and amp it up with a hint of sea salt and then we toss in a big heaping portion of snappy rainbow colored sprinkles! If you want the full birthday sheet cake experience, we suggest getting a scoop of this ice cream in a waffle cone, topped with our spring seasonal strawberry rhubarb sauce, and a big dollop of whipped cream on top!
