Denise Brown

Controller

  • What is your position at mm’s?
I’m the ice cream mathematician and vanilla-bean counter, aka The Controller.
  • What did you do before mm’s?
I spent the last 20 years in the marine industry as the controller for a local, family owned boat yard.  An unexpected, dream opportunity at Molly Moon’s inspired me to change my life.  Make the world a better place, feel inspired every day and eat ice cream while being a force for good – who could say no to that???
  • Where are you from?
I’m from Alaska, which is why I feel so connected to frozen things.  But since I hate cold weather, I’ve had to channel my childhood into an all-consuming passion for ice cream.
  • What are some of your hobbies?
I love travel, yoga, eating and cats (but not eating cats).  My happiest moments include any combination of these things. I’m excited by creative people, cleaver ideas, innovative thinkers, cat cafes, ice cream and art.
  • What is, or has been your favorite molly moon's product, ice cream or otherwise?
My favorite Molly Moon’s anything is our amazing mooncrew team! I love the people I work with - they never fail to make me smile and inspire me to be the best version of myself every day.  My second favorite thing is SALTED CARAMEL!

Emily Kim

Marketing and Community Relations Director

  • What is your position at mm’s? I am the Marketing and Community Relations person. I do everything from running our giving program and community partnerships, to working events, heading up social media and doing larger campaigns!
  • What did you do before mm’s? I worked for a councilmember at the Seattle City Council for a few years and then in the City Clerk's Office before finding my way here. I love that this job is a mix of all of the things I am passionate about, giving, social justice and policy work, but then also ice cream and all the bright, pretty, happy things!
  • Where are you from? I was born and raised (for the most part) in Seattle! I did a brief stint in D.C. after law school, but had to come back because there's really no better city.
  • What are some of your hobbies? I love writing and am usually working on a couple of small projects at a time. I'm a Sounders season ticket holder and also love going to Mariner's games! I volunteer quite a bit and am on the Board of the U District Food bank--so you can usually find me helping out around there.
  • What is, or has been your favorite molly moon's product, ice cream or otherwise? I just discovered we have malt powder. It's not on the menu, but now that I know I can get a chocolate malt whenever I want, I'm in trouble!

Greg Flores

Visual Specialist

  • What is your position at mm’s?
Visual Specialist & Graphic Designer - Basically, I'm tasked with turning the marketing and operations teams' ideas into a visual reality for our external AND internal customers (aka the mooncrew!). That can mean anything from executing ideas for new shirts, to hanging vinyl signs in shop windows, to painting murals like the one in Redmond, to laying out training documents, or gussying up 401k presentations.
  • What did you do before mm’s?
I was a freelance designer trying to find stability in my life when Molly Moon's came knocking. I had worked with Molly Moon's before, most notably on the cookbook, but when the opportunity to join the team in-house came up, I couldn't pass it up.
  • Where are you from?
Born and raised on the eastside, but how long do I have to live in Seattle before I can just say Seattle?
  • What are some of your hobbies?
Playing music has been my medicine since the first gnarly surge of hormones shocked my tween system so many years ago. Besides that, I like to sit quietly, hang out with my partner and our cats, and eat smoked meat. I also collect expensive hobbies for 2-3 month stints. Ask me about my essential oil collection.
  • What is, or has been your favorite molly moon's product, ice cream or otherwise?
One time I had an off-menu sundae that incorporated sesame butter and Ayako's plum jam... essentially a PB&J sundae. It was an important moment in my life.

My all-time favorite flavor is Oatmeal Cookie Dough. It had its moment of fame back in 2015.

  • What did you do before mm’s?
I worked in Beverage Operations at DRY Soda Co. for a couple of years before working in Operations for a non-culinary start-up in South Lake Union. After a few months at that job, I realized that I needed to come back to the food world and applied for my current job at Molly Moon's and haven't looked back.
  • Where are you from?
I was born in Kenya and have had the wonderful experience of growing up in Europe and the US. Seattle is now home! But you will find me occasionally itching for a new travel adventure.
  • What are some of your hobbies?
I get excited about a lot of things but I am a huge TV show fan. Name one and I have most likely watched it, twice! When I am not bingeing a show, you can find me traveling, trying out happy hours and restaurants, having game nights with friends (ask me about dungeons and dragons), and trying to get my hip-hop dancing on!
  • What is, or has been your favorite molly moon's product, ice cream or otherwise?
I love it all! And the great thing about my job is I know what is coming up before anyone else. If I had to desire a flavor we have done, my favorite would have to be Lemon Blueberry Custard in a waffle cone. It takes like breakfast in dessert form. Yum!
